Every donation makes a real difference to the lives of our patients. Whether your contribution has enabled us to buy a piece of equipment, support patient amenities, or fund research, every pound donated to our charity has helped us to fight the world's biggest killers - heart and lung disease.

Your support in recent years has been outstanding. The Charity has been able to fund a state of the art magnetic navigation catheter laboratory, the most advanced of its kind in Europe, which is treating patients with complex congenital heart defects and arrythmias.  We've also made substantial contributions to the development of the cardiovascular and respiratory Biomedical Research Units at Royal Brompton, which are looking into the causes of heart and lung disease and developing new treatments. Our appeal to buy a specialist MRI Scanner for Harefield Hospital is going from strength to strength, and we've broken through the £1m barrier, getting ever closer to our target of £1.5m.

But we don't just focus on the big items. We also buy things such as specialist tracheotomy training dolls for our paediatric unit; sensory equipment for children's outpatients; special chairs for long term patients; and computers for patients to use on the wards.
