For the seventh year running, rock legend and Charity Ambassador Shakin’ Stevens alongside Miles Dalby, hosted a successful Annual Charity Golf Day to raise money for the Harefield Hospital Transplant Appeal.

Perfect weather set the scene for our Annual Charity Golf Day held at Denham Golf Club. The day began with an introduction from golf Pro Mark Lawrie and Miles Dalby, who spoke to the 17 teams taking part – among those The New Seekers and our very own Fundraising Director, Ashley Westpfel.

This year also saw the first ever women’s team take part with Penny Grocott-Mason saying, “I just wanted to say how much my team enjoyed yesterday’s golf day. Although our team didn’t win, everyone had a wonderful time.”

Over 40 Shakin’ Stevens fans joined us, eagerly awaiting the chance to meet Shaky – some coming as far as Germany to meet their idol and pose for photographs.

Following the tournament, Bobby Davro was our star auctioneer, featuring alongside Stephen Jones who provided some epic table magic to our 80 dinner guests. And as always, the three-course meal received lots of praise.

A long-time supporter of our Golf Day - Frankie said, “Thanks for a super day of golf and fun, all of my guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, again you and your team made it a great day.”

We’re delighted to announce the following winners from the day:

  • First place – Dalby’s Disasters (Jason Dalby, Richard Elmitt, Stephen Duckett and Owain McGuire) with 96 points
