Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals lead the world in innovative diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disease. One reason for this is the hospitals’ Genetics and Genomics Team who help with the diagnosis of suspected inherited conditions.

Here at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, we are committed to keeping the hospitals at the leading edge of patient care. To help with this, we are raising funds to provide the Genetics and Genomics Team with the latest equipment to help with their ground breaking work.

Where will my money go?

The funds raised from this appeal will go towards a new sequencer that will allow the team to do more genetic testing. Demand for testing has exploded, with the hospitals’ team delivering a quarter of the cardiac testing for the UK and a third of respiratory testing.

Help identify conditions and save lives

Genetic testing can help identify conditions earlier when they are easier to treat or can be prevented from developing. The tests can be done on a patient who has symptoms or on other family members before symptoms develop. These genetic tests save lives, as they can mean the quick identification of a condition before it becomes critical.

How you can help

You can help save lives by providing the hospitals with state-of-the-art equipment by fundraising or donating to this appeal via the links above.
