It’s on again!

Team Lungs has challenged Team Heart to a rematch

Heart vs Lungs is back in April and this time we are raising funds for our Covid-19 Relief Fund.

Cover distance save lives

We are aiming to raise £100,000 to pay for new equipment to help our two world-class hospitals treat Covid-19 patients. The fund will purchase equipment, such as ECMO machines to treat the sickest Covid-19 patients and provide Patient Experience Coordinators to deliver face to face or virtual activities that will improve the experience of patients.

The fund will also support staff wellbeing by providing sustenance packages, including drinks, hand cream, massages and treatments to help our NHS colleagues rise to the challenge of the pandemic.

Vanessa’s story

Vanessa Vyapooree was treated at Royal Brompton Hospital for Covid-19 and received life support via extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Vanessa said: “I'm so grateful that you gave me back my life. I think of you every single day and pray for your safety, resilience and strength. You're thought about more than I could ever express.”

Help us help patients

All the money you raise for Heart vs Lungs 2.0 will go towards helping Covid-19 patients such as Vanessa, who need the specialist treatment that our hospitals offer. It will also help our NHS staff who are working round the clock to care for patients like Vanessa.
