Frontline NHS staff are facing huge challenges and nowhere is this more acute than at Royal Brompton Hospital.  A specialist respiratory and cardiac hospital treating patients with the most severe forms of Covid-19, who have been transferred from other hospitals to be treated and cared by our amazing and dedicated staff.

Many of the frontline staff have extended their shifts working 12 hours on, 12 hours off for a number of days.  They are staying locally and then going home for a short rest before they come back to work again. Sometimes shifts can be even longer and our clinical colleagues are catching sleep when they can.

Whilst all these doctors and nurses are heroes, so are their families supporting them, and at times they may feel a bit left out as they must carry on without their parent, partner or other family members.

We want to help our frontline staff. This appeal will enable 400 healthy and substantial food boxes a week to be delivered to the Royal Brompton Hospital for the staff to take home with them when they get their rare and welcome breaks.

I cannot say enough about how professional, willing and positive these teams of people are. They are the ones on the true front line and I have so much admiration for them.
