We are aiming to raise £1 million to equip Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals with the latest imaging equipment.

This will mean:

  • Our clinical teams are able to do more complex, minimally invasive procedures
  • More detailed images at lower radiation levels
  • Less dye being used for imaging, which is better for younger patients whose kidneys are prone to damage from contrast agents.

Jim’s story

The new scanners will help patients like Jim. Last year Jim started to experience shooting pains in his chest. At first the prognosis wasn’t good, but then Dr Rob Smith and his team at Harefield Hospital suggested a minimally invasive cath lab procedure.

“The care and concern that Dr Smith and his team showed me before, during and after my treatment are extraordinary. These people have an incredible passion for care. It's overwhelming,” Jim said.
