I don't mean to be smug, but I have booked my table for the Great Brompton Quiz - and luckily I have as they are going fast - have you booked yours? It really is a terrific evening. My table has never won but there is a brilliant mixture of competitive spirit and just sheer fun. Hugh Dennis of Outnumbered and Mock the Week will be our quizmaster which we are very excited about! Miss it and you miss out..... If you want a table, I hope you are on time!

Come and support us and help us to raise funds for our life-saving ECMO Appeal raising funds for ECMO units at Royal Brompton Hospital. ECMO is a last resort for many critically-ill patients - quite literally bringing them back to life when all other methods have been exhausted. So a great evening and a fantastic cause, see you there.

But we don't just have one fantastic event in the near future - tickets are zooming out the door (or off the web) for our Carols by Candlelight Concert at St Luke's, Chelsea which has to be one of the most beautiful churches in England. But that is not the only special thing about our festive event - Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley will be our star reader this year. I can hear her voice as I write - she will be wonderful and I am really looking forward to this year's event. We will have our very own Singing for Breathing choir, and the gorgeous ICOSA choir which makes Christmas feel so close.

And one final word the Harefield Fun Run. Guess how much it raised? £45,000 - wow! That's nearly a quarter of our target to buy the very latest technology to support our amazing nurses - and therefore our patients and other NHS colleagues. Incidentally, I have seen the new advertisement for nursing on the television - very powerful. Our nurses are fantastic - we are so lucky to have their expertise, dedication and loyalty.
