We have had two beautiful Carol Concerts – they always are lovely but this year has been very special, which I will tell you about in my blog.  

Harefield came first with a real community feel. For such a small town, Harefield really does have more than its fair share of musical talent and the choirs – very young and not so young prepared us for Christmas with warmth and tradition.  We don’t charge a ticket price for this Carol Concert but our wonderful congregation still raised over £700 on the night. Thank you to the Reverend Martin Davies and the clergy team for welcoming us.  Our Transplant Appeal is doing really well thanks to our amazing donors but there is still some way to go – read about why it is so important to support our heart and lung patients at Harefield.

The stunning St Luke’s Church Chelsea was as beautiful as ever on Tuesday and we welcomed a great many people to come and enjoy some of the most wonderful singing and reading, with over £10,700 raised. Felicity Kendal was our star and she read Little Tree so beautifully. It was also lovely to have Anne-Marie Minhall who I know well by sound from Classic FM but it was super to meet her and she also read with warmth and passion. Our other very special reader was Noel de Keyzer who is a close friend to the Charity as he brings Savills very generously to sponsor our event, enabling us to put every ticket and donation towards our cause which this year is to support a pioneering ambition to support our adult cystic fibrosis patients. The Icosa Choir was outstanding – and I have had so many lovely comments about them – we are so lucky to have them to sing at our Concerts.  To read more about this please click here. 

At both of our Carol Concerts, we have the Singing for Breathing group. This is a choir composed of patients who come together to sing to aid their breathing and to give them fun and fellowship. Their enthusiasm for singing is infectious and our congregations cannot help singing and clapping with them. 

We have received some very special donations recently so thank you to all of you who support our hospitals. Every gift goes directly to make lives better for our patients and enables us to keep Royal Brompton and Harefield at the forefront of technology and medical equipment. We have great plans for next year too.
