What do your Sunday mornings normally consist of? A cup of tea in bed? Snoozing on the sofa? Why not mix it up on Sunday 16 July and embark on a thrilling 80 metre free fall abseil from the iconic ArcelorMittal Orbit?

What does it involve?

You will be attached to the safety lines secured above the abseil platform via your safety equipment. Once your safety system has been checked by your abseil instructor, you will begin your abseil. You will be asked to lean backwards while lowering yourself over the edge of the platform.

Once past the abseil platform, you will dangle in the air, suspended by your abseil line. As you control the speed of your descent, you can take your time to enjoy the incredible views, while moving towards the ground. From the top you should be able to see lots of London’s most famous landmarks including The Gherkin, St Paul’s, Canary Wharf, Wembley Stadium and The O2 Arena!

Where will my money go?

Your money will go towards supporting the health and welfare of patients by providing state-of-the-art equipment and new facilities, as well as supporting cutting-edge research into heart and lung conditions.
