Walk, jog, run or ride along the Grand Union Canal, joining our two hospitals in one fantastic summer event on Sunday 1 July

What does it involve?

After truly spectacular events last year and in 2016, the Grand Canal Challenge is back again in 2018 and it's even bigger and better than before. Join us on 1 July for routes along the Grand Union Canal and a Finishers' Festival at Harefield Hospital.

If you're feeling energetic, why not go for the full 26 mile route? If that sounds a little daunting, never fear... There are also 12 mile and 6 mile routes. Whatever your ability, we'd love you to join us.

It's not a race, so you can go at your own pace and enjoy the painted canal boats, lush green scenery and checkpoint refreshments, including free beer samples, as you pass through West London, out into gorgeous countryside.

And once you've reached Harefield Hospital, you'll be welcomed by our Finishers' Festival. There'll be music, food and drink to help you celebrate your fantastic achievement!

If you would like to take part but require special assistance, please get in contact with Ashley at [email protected] or call us on 020 7351 8613.

Where will my money go?

Your money will go towards supporting the health and welfare of patients by providing state-of-the-art equipment and new facilities, as well as supporting cutting-edge research into heart and lung conditions.

How much does it cost to take part?

Registration costs just £15 each.

We ask individual participants to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship to support the work of the hospitals and ask family entries (2 adults and 2 children) to raise a minimum of £250.

Anything else I need to know?

Please be aware that if you sign up to walk the full 26 mile route, there is a maximum time limit of eight hours. If you are not confident that you will be able to complete the walk in that time, please consider signing up to the 12 mile route instead.

We ask you to please read our terms and conditions before proceeding.

Dogs are welcome on the day, provided they are kept on a lead at all times and that owners adhere to the Canal & River Trust's guidance

Could you volunteer for us?

We need volunteers to help with marshalling, cheering on our participants and to carry out general tasks on the day. If you'd like to volunteer to help us make the day as successful as possible, we'd love to hear from you. You'll receive a free t-shirt and refreshments throughout the day. For more information and to register your interest, please contact [email protected]. Thank you.
