It’s back on!

Team Lungs have thrown down the gauntlet and challenged Team Heart to a rematch!

Team Lungs captains Aaron McKibbin and Will Bayley said:

“Last year Team Heart beat us at the last minute, but Team Lungs have spent the winter training hard, so this year we’re going to win. We’re getting serious this time.”

Team Heart captain Claire Sweeney said:

“I am really excited to be leading Team Heart as we defend our title! I’m sure Team Heart will give it everything they’ve got and walk away with it again this year.”

The second round of our virtual fundraising challenge will take place from 9am Saturday 3 April until midnight on Saturday 1 May.

How does it work?

Choose a team: Team Heart, led by Claire Sweeney, or Team Lungs captained by Aaron McKibbin and Will Bayley, and then you can walk, jog, roll or run for your team and it will be added to your team’s total. At the end, one team will be crowned the winner.

You can do this challenge wherever you are and whatever your level of fitness. In round 1 some participants walked up mountains and some walked laps of their garden. Whatever ground you cover, it all gets added to your team’s total.

The virtual firing gun will go off at 9am Saturday 3 April and from then you can start adding distance to your team’s total. Both teams will race along a virtual route that goes from Royal Brompton Hospital to Sydney, Australia.

When you sign up, you will also get some amazing goodies. Everyone taking part will receive their own Team Heart or Team Lungs t-shirt and a finishers medal at the end.

If you have any questions, please send us an email at [email protected]

Where will my money go?

Your friends and family can sponsor you along the way. All the funds raised by both teams will go towards our Covid-19 Relief Fund, which will provide essential equipment to help both our hospitals care for Covid-19 patients now and into the future.

Now is your chance to be a part of this virtual challenge. Choose Team Heart or Team Lungs and then keep an eye on your inbox for a welcome from your team captain. This will include all the information you need to get started, including your secret code to access your team’s mission website.

Who will win the rematch? Will Team Heart win again or will Team Lungs even the score? It’s up to you!
