London Marathon 2019 - Ballot What does it involve? This 26.2 mile race needs no introduction. Take on the iconic run and be part of the world's biggest fundraising event. Please note, we only have one place. Read on to see how to apply. How much does it cost? Registration fee: £100 Minimum fundraising target: £2,000 Where will my money go? All the money raised will support the vital work of CORDA, established to find a way of detecting and reversing cardiovascular disease Cardiovascular disease is the main cause of death and disability in the Western world. Nearly half of us will die from the disease, usually by suffering a stroke or heart attack and probably without showing any symptoms beforehand. CORDA is a charity that was established to find a way of detecting cardiovascular disease at an early stage by the use of fast, painless and non-invasive means, and then to reverse the disease. CORDA set out to help people answer the following important questions: Have I got the disease? Is it going to kill me? Can something be done about it? Is it possible to monitor the effectiveness of treatment? We share CORDA's aims and values, and so, in May 2014, the charity was integrated into Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity. How do I apply? We only have one exclusive spot in this event so to be in with a chance of securing your place, please complete the application form below. Please try and include as much detail as possible about why you would like to run for us and how you anticipate raising the money. We will be letting all applicants know whether they have been successful in October, once the public ballot has been announced. Booking for this event has now closed.
