St Mary’s Church hosted our intimate Harefield Carols by Candlelight concert.

Over 100 Harefield Hospital supporters joined us to celebrate the festive season for our annual Carols by Candlelight.

The evening, which was in aid of our Harefield Transplant Appeal, raised over £1,000. These generous donations will go towards the purchase of life-saving organ care systems, to give more people the chance to receive a life-saving heart or lung transplant.

The St Mary’s Youth Choir led the service with two wonderful performances. A brilliant performance of ‘Frosty the Snowman’ was given by Harefield Junior School followed by the Singing for Breathing choir belting out ‘Mele Kalikimake’ and ‘Mistletoe and Wine’.

Readings were given by dedicated Charity supporters, Steven Pursey, Sophia O’brien, Josephine Tanner and Henry Hargrave, including the holiday favourite ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’. Rita Presnail, Matron of the Transplant Clinic at Harefield Hospital and Mr Downs from Harefield Primary School also took to the pulpit to read verses from the Bible.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to St Mary’s Church for hosting the service for another year. We’d also like to thank Waitrose, Tesco and Morrisons for their contributions of mulled wine and mince pies for guests to enjoy following the service.
