The sun was shining for our annual Summer Picnic last Friday which raised £4,866 in total towards Transforming Your Care. Over 130 supporters, patients, friends and families joined us in the picturesque grounds surrounding Harefield Hospital with everyone in great spirits!

The afternoon began with guests picking up their picnics from the Charity team and sourcing the best spot to soak up the rays. This year, we were once again delighted to have Scrumptious Catering providing the food with a selection of delicious treats including sandwiches, strawberries and brownies. Guests were also offered a glass of Prosecco, Pimm’s or a soft drink courtesy of Robert Cooper Estate Agents who sponsored the bar.

Bringing a brilliant atmosphere to the picnic was the incredible band Tony Oliver’s Jazz Days who played a great selection of music for all to enjoy. Magical entertainer, Stephen Jones also joined us in the sun and wowed guests with his incredible tricks.

All proceeds from this year’s Summer Picnic will be going towards our newest appeal, Transforming Your Care which will enable us to implement a new electronic observations system at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital. Having the new digital observations system will mean that our staff can provide the best possible care, at the right time, for all patients across both hospitals.

Thank you to everyone who came to support us at the picnic. By attending, you’ve been able ensure that more people survive heart and lung disease. And a final thank you to Payless Builders and all our generous sponsors and volunteers from the day who made it all possible.
