MCKS Foundation donates £15,000 to our CF Appeal Last Friday, the MCKS Charitable Foundation UK presented our Charity with a donation of £15,000, to go towards our Cystic Fibrosis Appeal. Helen Parrott, Associate Director of Rehabilitation and Therapies, received the cheque which was presented by Ruth Morrissy, Pranic Healing practitioner and MCKS Foundation Chair. The charities which come to the Foundation’s attention are chosen through a careful selection process and are also proposed by their Pranic Healing students. Our Charity was proposed to the foundation in 2016 by a previous member of their organisation after their daughter was cared for as a patient on our Cystic Fibrosis Ward - and have been friends of the Charity since. Pranic Healing is a non-touch therapy used to alleviate physical and psychological ailments. The volunteer Pranic Healing therapists use specialist techniques which they have learnt to aid the removal of these stressors and help leave the individual with less stress and more clarity in their lives. Since November 2017, the Pranic Healing therapists have been visiting Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals every week to offer 10-minute Pranic Healing sessions as a form of stress relief to the clinical and support staff at the hospitals. We would like to say a big thank you to the MCKS Foundation UK for this generous donation!
