Everybody here at the Charity would like to thank all those who took part in our 4th annual Golf Day at Harefield Hospital. We managed to raise £20,000 for the extension to Harefield's Intensive Care Unit (ITU).

In typical British fashion, the month's worth of rain the night before wasn't enough to dampen spirits, and thanks to the excellent groundskeeping at Denham Golf Club, the course was still in great condition to play on.

Altogether, 20 teams played the course, and in the end, Jason Dalby's four ball team were crowned the champions. A special thanks to Dr Miles Dalby, Consultant Cardiologist at Harefield Hospital who forwarded on the good word to his brother and beyond.

Despite carrying an injury, singing legend Shakin' Stevens was still there on the day to support the cause, and although he couldn't take part, he helped cheer on our golfers – we hope to see him at next year's event. The hilarious Adger Brown had everybody in fits of laughter during our Charity Auction, and we'd also like to thank our other special guests, Brian Berg, chairman of Eclipse Films, and Moody Blues rock star John Lodge.

Our auction was also a huge success. Little wonder really, as some of the lots sold included two tickets for Chelsea vs Crystal Palace in next season's Premier League, a Callaway Graphite golf club signed by Colin Montgomerie, OBE, two tickets to see England vs Argentina at Twickenham and an 18-hole coaching session with pro-golfer Stuart Campbell.

We'd also like to thank all of our very generous sponsors, including our main sponsor Martin-Baker for their fundraising and promoting efforts, we wouldn't have had the success we had without their support.
