The Royal Parks Half Marathon will be taking place on 13 October this year and today the ballot opens for runners to apply to run, closing 5pm on Wednesday 6 February.

Last year, our #PurpleHeartArmy took to the parks for the 13.1-mile distance and raised over an £21,000 for the charity whilst doing so! The route took them through four of London’s eight stunning Royal Parks and past some of the city’s most famous landmarks.

Last year’s runners include Royal Brompton Hospital’s patient Sara Bentley. Sara, who had a pacemaker fitted in 2017 says, ‘thanks to the life changing care and treatment given by the RBHT I was able to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon with my husband in 2018, to raise money for such a personal cause. The race itself is an amazing atmosphere and takes in some of the best views of London, but the spectators really make it. It was a hugely emotional experience and I can’t recommend it enough’.

Family and friends are also encouraged to come and enjoy the event alongside the runners. The Food & Fitness Festival will be open to all and guests can expect fun sporting activities, entertainment and a food market. A great day out for everyone.

If you are feeling ready for the most scenic run in London then make sure to apply to the Royal Parks Half Marathon ballot this week. Find out more information on the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2019 here.
