Rock legend and Charity Ambassador Shakin’ Stevens hosted another successful Annual Charity Golf Day to raise money for the Harefield Hospital Transplant Appeal.

Denham Sharks

On 21 June, 12 teams came together at Denham Golf Club to take part in our Annual Golf Day, with Brian Bennett, from the Shadows band and our very own Fundraising Director Ashley Westpfel taking part.

The day tee’d off with a stellar introduction from golf Pro Mark Lawrie and Miles Dalby, eagerly watched on by teams getting ready for the 18-hole golf course.

We’re delighted to announce the following winners from the day:

  1. First place – Denham Sharks with 91 points (Robin Allen, John Mullane, Andy Parry and Daniel Hassel)
  2. Second place – Dalby's Disasters with 90 points winners on countback (Jason Dalby, Stephen Duckett, Richard Elmitt and Phillip Jansen)
  3. Third place – The Ornithologists with 90 points (Frank Fitzmaurice, Alex Say, Raymond Corner, Chris Pitt).
  • Nearest to the pin winner - Mark Perkins
  • Longest drive - Leigh Harrington.

Before departing the gloriously green course at Denham, Shakin’ Stevens signed a handful of programmes and took pictures with fans – a total of 30 who turned up to see him and who generously donated in return.

Frankie Fitzmaurice who played on the day is already looking ahead to 2019, he said:

“Thank you for a great day. Looking forward to entering our team again next year.”

Golfers and guests were then invited to sit down in the Great Hall for a truly spectacular three-course dinner, put on by the Denham Golf Club. Miles Dalby thanked all of our supporters and sponsors including Martin Baker who has been our title sponsor for the past four years.

Bobby Davro provided an evening of laughter alongside delivering our special auction that included a signed Rolling Stones ticket from 1963 and two VIP Chelsea FC tickets.

Fraser Britton who kindly donated two auction lots, raising £900, said:

“It was a really good day. Thanks for all your hard work!”

The auction helped to raise an incredible £3,350.

Congratulations to our winners and everyone who came along to help raise money for Harefield Hospital Transplant Appeal.

Thank you to Barclays who raised £6,180 with the auction and raffle.
