Thanks to your generosity and an incredible gift from The Kusuma Trust UK, we have been able to equip Cath Lab 2 at Royal Brompton Hospital with a brand new scanner, which will bring even the tiniest hearts into even greater focus.

You raised £647,000 for new imaging equipment for Royal Brompton

We want to say a big thank you to all our supporters and fundraisers who donated to the Life in Focus appeal. The last year and a half has been challenging for you and for the Charity. Covid-19 has meant that we cannot hold many of the fundraising events we had planned, but this hasn’t stopped you raising £647,000 to equip Royal Brompton with the latest imaging equipment.

Your support has been essential in raising the funds to buy a brand new scanner for Cath Lab 2 at Royal Brompton Hospital. Cath labs (catheter laboratories) are where life-saving minimally invasive procedures take place on patients, some as young as only a few days old. This new imaging equipment will allow our cardiac teams to bring even the tiniest hearts into even greater focus.

Whether you attended our virtual or online events, such as Team Heart vs Team Lungs, Virtual Vino or Brompton’s Bingo Bonanza, or did your own fundraising, your generosity will make a big difference to patients and will help keep Royal Brompton Hospital at the leading edge of patient care.

The Charity wants to say an especially big thank you to The Kusuma Trust UK whose incredible donation allowed us to complete this appeal.

Soma Pujari, Executive Trustee of The Kusuma Trust UK, said: "We feel very privileged to have been able to support the purchase of essential cath lab equipment for Royal Brompton and Harefield so some of the best doctors have the latest and finest technology available to be able to deliver the best care to heart patients.”

Thank you again to the Kusuma Trust UK and everyone who donated to the Life in Focus appeal, your generous support made this appeal a success.
