This year the London Bridges Walk is supporting the Next Generation Genetics appeal. We are raising funds to equip the hospitals’ genetics and genomics team with a brand new NextSeq 2000 Sequencing System. This state-of-the-art device will allow the team to test many more patients for inherited heart or lung conditions.

Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals’ genetics and genomics team test thousands of patients each year from across South East England. Currently, a third of all UK tests for inherited lung conditions and a quarter of tests for inherited heart conditions are done by the hospitals’ team.

By taking on the London Bridges Walk you are helping many patients, and their families, get a diagnosis and then be put on a course of treatment that could save their life.
