Melanie Jack passed away on 25th February 2021 at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. She was 35 years old.

Melanie survived her parents Rolston and Cheryl Jack by mere weeks - Rolston passed away on 24th December 2020 and Cheryl just 20 days before Melanie, on 5th February.

Melanie received specialist ECMO support during the final weeks of her life. ECMO works by supplying oxygen for the lungs and heart. There are only 100 machines in the UK, a handful of which are in the Royal Brompton hospital.

ECMO has proven to be beneficial in helping some of the most critically ill covid patients during this pandemic.

We can think of no more fitting charity at this time than the Royal Brompton Hospital (RBH) Covid Relief Fund. Money donated in the name of the Jack Family will go towards ECMO equipment, blood has analysers, specialist humidifiers and other essential equipment.

We hope that some good can come of these unbearably tragic events by helping others who require this specialist lifesaving equipment.
