Thanks to your generosity, and support from the Monday Charitable Trust, the Kusuma Trust UK, The Gerald and Gail Ronson Family Foundation, NHS Charities Together and Benenden Health, we raised over £1 million to help our hospitals through the first wave of the Covid-19 crisis.

Our first emergency appeal

Over a few days in March 2020, Covid-19 went from a story we were keeping our eyes on to the focus of everything we did. We launched our first ever emergency appeal to buy equipment for both our hospitals, which quickly found themselves on the frontline of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The response from our supporters was incredible. A huge number of donations flooded in as well as gifts of food, drinks, toiletries, hand cream, cakes and groceries for our staff. Celebrity supporters of the Charity also helped out. England cricketer Jos Butler donated a signed shirt that we auctioned, whilst comedian Hugh Dennis and rock legend Shakin’ Stevens both recorded videos encouraging donations to our appeal.

The Monday Charitable Trust made a generous donation. Kusuma Trust UK provided funds for new ECMO machines and portable ultrasounds, whilst The Gerald and Gail Ronson Family Foundation donated funds to buy state-of-the-art ventilators. NHS Charities Together gave money for staff well-being programmes and Benenden Health funded research into Covid-19. Thank you to everyone who donated. Your support has been amazing.

All these incredible donations made a big difference to our hospitals when our NHS colleagues needed it most. When they were working around the clock treating some of the sickest Covid-19 patients, you were there backing them up.

Thank you for being there for our hospitals when they needed you the most.
