From the age of 14years, I had a heart condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT). I was one of the lucky ones, as over the years, Dr Clague and Dr Till and their teams managed my condition, tried various procedures, and then eventually fixed my heart, so I no longer have the condition or need medication, which is amazing!
Sadly, my dad died suddenly, age just 55, in April 2014, only a few weeks after I had my heart fixed. Tragically, he died from undiagnosed ischemic heart disease.

Today, Friday 10 August, my lovely dad should turn 60 years old.

I decided to run a half-marathon to raise funds for the Royal Brompton in memory of my dad, so on October 14th this year, I will run in the Royal Parks Half Marathon.
Anyone who knows me, may be very shocked to read this, as up to a few months ago, I couldn't run at all. But I have been training, and now I can run 6 miles, with 9 weeks to go until the big day!

Please donate whatever you can for this fantastic hospital. I will forever be grateful to Dr Clague, Dr Till and all their colleagues.

(The hospital receive all donations direct with this page).

Thank you so much for your support! Annika Harris
