**POSTPONED TO 10 JULY 2021**

So my birthday present to myself in 2020 is another challenge, but this one is with a difference and with one ultimate goal in mind - to raise funds for a charity very close to my heart. So what's the challenge? A wing walk of course!

Yes that's right, on the 11th July 2020 I will be taking to the skies on the top of an authentic 1940s Boeing Spearman biplane! Have I got the nerves of steel needed? (I'm pretty scared to be honest)!

I’m fundraising for The Harefield Transplant Appeal, because my mum is currently under their care for heart failure caused by Cardiac Sarcoidosis, she has an LVAD (artificial heart) fitted already and is on the heart transplant register.

The Harefield Transplant Appeal is raising £200,000 to support patients at Harefield Hospital in need of life-saving transplants

Harefield Hospital is the UK’s largest and most experienced centre for heart and lung transplants.

From April 2018 - March 2019, the Transplant Team performed 36 heart transplants and 49 lung transplants – that’s a huge 31% of lung transplants in the UK.

We're raising funds for Organ Care Systems (Heart) so, with your support, our doctors and nurses can continue to treat even more patients.

What is the Organ Care System?

The Organ Care System (OCS), keeps donated hearts and lungs in a warm, functioning state outside of the human body. This means they are viable for up to four times longer than the traditional on-ice method.

Donated organs can also come from hospitals further away, arrive in better condition and give medical staff longer to prepare for and perform life-saving surgery.
