What does your Sunday mornings normally consist of? A cup of tea in bed?
Well on Sunday 16th July 2017 I will be Abseiling down the Orbit for a charity that is very close to my heart “The Royal Brompton Hospital”.

My dad was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) a condition in which the lungs become scarred and breathing becomes increasingly difficult. In people with IPF, the tiny air sacs in the lungs become damaged and increasingly scarred. This causes the lungs to become stiff and means it’s difficult for oxygen to get into the blood. Idiopathic means the cause is unknown.

This hospital has supported not only my dad but my whole family through the struggle of ‘Idiopathic Pulmonary Disease’. The Royal Brompton Hospital is Europe’s largest centre for the treatment and management of cystic fibrosis, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis and other lung conditions.

The event I am taking part in consists of a thrilling 80 metre free fall abseil from the iconic ArcelorMittal Orbit. From the top you can see lots of London’s most famous landmarks including The Gherkin, St Paul’s, Canary Wharf, Wembley Stadium and the O2! The money raised will go towards the health and welfare of patients by providing state-of-the-art equipment and new facilities as well as supporting cutting-edge research into lung conditions.
