When my daughter Isla was 6 weeks old she suffered heart failure at home and was blue lighted to the Royal Brompton hospital in London where she was put into an induced coma to give her small body the rest it needed. Obviously this was the worst times of our lives seeing our little baby suffer and there was nothing we could do about it. The love and care we received from all the nurses and consultants at the Brompton was second to none. After 2 weeks Isla was allowed to come home but on 6 different medications a day and with monthly trips to London. Isla was diagnosed with dilated cardio myopathy(enlargement of the heart muscle) which is going to be with her for the rest of her life but with the medication everything is stable and Isla is such a loving little 4 year old girl but if it wasn’t for the Royal Brompton hospital she wouldn’t of made it. I just want to raise as much money as possible so they can continue to grow their research and treatments so they can help many more people that may suffer such an awful event.
