Darren Whitney

As most of you know, I received the amazing gift of new lungs in September last year at Harefield Hospital.
For the first 3 weeks, I was in the ITU (Intensive Therapy Unit). With not being able to move much more then my head and feet, I was completely reliant on the nurses on the ward. The care, the doctors & nurses provided was second to none - and without them I wouldn't be here!
The dedication from so many of the staff at the hospital, is what helped me to recover and start living and enjoying life being able to breath!!
The continued follow ups and support I have received since leaving Harefield has been exceptional.

So for that, we want to show our gratitude by attempting to finish the Harefield 5k and raise as much money as we can.

Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity, funds innovative treatment and research. Vital to patients’ lives and wellbeing, their projects make these specialist heart and lung hospitals not only excellent but extraordinary.

Please help us to show our gratitude by donating what you can!!
