Thank you for taking the time to visit this page, it really means a lot to us.

As you all know our Dad passed away in September 2019. Dad had long been suffering from heart failure, which he fought so hard with countless appointments and operations, living a life as normal as possible and for as long as possible. This would not have been possible were it not for Dr Rob Smith and his team at Harefield Hospital.

Due to Covid we never really got to commemorate Dad and so we have decided to compete in a fun run on his birthday this year, to celebrate his life and what a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Uncle he was.

Dr Smith greatly cared for Dad, and he performed novel surgery on Dad to improve his quality and length of life. After Dad's bypass surgery in his 40's, as he grew older he developed heart failure with an impaired mitral valve. Dr Smith performed innovative transcatheter valve surgery which helped Dad's heart function better and gave him a much better quality of life in his last two years.

Every time Dad saw Dr Smith, he came back beaming and had much more confidence in his health and abilities to do everyday tasks in life. Dr Smith truly cared for Dad and didn't just see him as a patient, he had a personal touch and always showed kindness to us too.

We are fundraising for Dr Smiths research in the transcatheter mitral valve programme so others can be given the same opportunity that Dad was given to receive this. Please join us in remembering Dad.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Minesh, Anoli and Family
