Morgan Fullbrook Hello my name is Morgan, I am 12 years old and I am organising a sponsored 5k run to raise money for the harefield hospital transplant appeal, the reason I am doing this is because harefield hospital gave me the best gift ever, they gave me my grandad back, they gave me more time with him, more memories.

My grandad suffered with cystic fibrosis and he got really really poorly and we got told that he didn't have much time left but on 14th September 2018 my grandad had a double lung transplant.

I want to give them something back because they will never know how much it means to me, my brothers and my cousins to have this time with him, so I am hoping to raise £1000 for their transplant appeal.

I would be extremely grateful of any donations I get because every penny gets me closer to my target, please share this as much as possible.

Harefield Hospital is the UK’s largest and most experienced centre for heart and lung transplants.

From April 2018 - March 2019, the Transplant Team performed 36 heart transplants and 49 lung transplants – that’s a huge 31% of lung transplants in the UK.

I am helping to raise the funds for Organ Care Systems so, with your support, our doctors and nurses can continue to treat even more patients.

What is the Organ Care System?

The Organ Care System (OCS), keeps donated hearts and lungs in a warm, functioning state outside of the human body. This means they are viable for up to four times longer than the traditional on-ice method.

Donated organs can also come from hospitals further away, arrive in better condition and give medical staff longer to prepare for and perform life-saving surgery.
