Professor Tim Evans was a close friend and trustee of Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity.

In his memory, The Professor Tim Evans Memorial Fund has been set up. Donations towards the fund will support two causes:

• The Professor Tim Evans Travelling Fellowship, which will support a doctor in training to present at and attend the prestigious annual American Thoracic Society (ATS) meeting.
This major meeting is a chance for those earlier in their career and those who already have international recognition within our clinical specialities to meet, learn, collaborate and present fresh ideas. Each year, the Travelling Fellowship will be awarded by a panel of senior Trust clinicians to a candidate who shows great potential in the field of critical care medicine for heart and lung disease.

• In recognition of his work over many years at both Trusts, the Professor Tim Evans Training Fellowship, which will link Chelsea & Westminster and Royal Brompton Hospitals to train junior doctors in the disciplines of  anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. The Fellowship will last for 12 months, allowing one doctor per annum to train in anaesthesia at Chelsea & Westminster for 6 months, before returning to Royal Brompton to further their training in intensive care medicine. Many of today’s experts have trained at both hospitals under Professor Evans’ watchful eye, and this Training Fellowship will help ensure that we can continue to produce the experts of tomorrow.

Tim’s wife, Emer, has asked that any donations in memory of her husband go towards these funds to help continue to drive the maturation of critical care as an independent specialty within the UK. Deleted User
