Over 11 years ago my Auntie was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension (PH); a condition that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of your heart. As a result, she was admitted to The Royal Brompton Hospital.

Over all these years she was treated by the phenomenal staff at The Royal Brompton Hospital, keeping her smiling and laughing despite the challenges she was facing.

In December 2017 she was admitted to The Harefield Hospital to receive life-prolonging surgery.

But in January 2018 she lost her fight to PH and passed away. She left behind a devastated and heartbroken family, mother and young daughter whose lives will never be the same.

Although she didn’t make it, there isn’t a single day that we, as a family are not grateful, humbled and indebted to the outstanding care she received from the first day she was diagnosed all those years ago. This care allowed her to live her life to the fullest and enjoy every moment she was given.

Because of this amazing treatment and care she received, I’ve chosen to take part in Ride London 2019. The aim is to raise money, giving more people who need it the chance to have the care my Auntie received and the chance to live their lives, praying that more families don’t have to go through what we ultimately did. zubair mohammad
