The Monday Charitable Trust has pledged £150,000 for our Foulis Ward Education Project, providing regular education for young people with chronic illnesses

Royal Brompton’s Hospital School has been providing education and support for our paediatric inpatients since 1989.

At 16, patients transition from the paediatric care on Rose Ward to adult medical care on Royal Brompton’s Foulis Ward. Sadly, the education provision does not extend to Foulis Ward as there is no resource to do so.

Following a visit to see how the school is currently run and how patients, like Jack (pictured left), could benefit from an extended education provision, the Monday Charitable Trust has generously pledged £150,000 towards this provision over three years.

Trustee Sarah Baxter said the visit was ‘inspirational’ and that the Trust was “very excited about this project, which is clearly much needed”.

We will continue to raise the remaining £34,000 through applications to Trusts and Foundations and will keep you posted on our progress!
