Help stop today’s cancer patients becoming tomorrow’s heart patients
Support vital research at the UK’s first Cardio-Oncology Centre of Excellence, based at Royal Brompton hospital.
Protecting hearts through research
Cancer survival rates are rising. That’s great news – but some life saving treatments can damage patients’ hearts and vascular systems. Royal Brompton hospital’s cardio-oncology work is helping more people finish their cancer care safely, avoid long-term complications, and live longer, healthier lives.
The Cardio-Oncology Centre of Excellence is one of only two in the UK to have a Gold Class status from the International Cardio-Oncology Society. Led by renowned specialist Dr Alexander Lyon, it’s helping to define this fast-growing field – and save lives.
With your help, we’ll be able to:
- Expand our clinical and research capacity
- Build the UK’s first cardio-oncology biobank
- Develop AI tools for faster diagnosis
- Create global resources for clinicians
- Train future cardio-oncology specialists
- Publish life-saving research
Thanks to the generosity of The Big Heart Foundation, we’ve laid the groundwork. But there’s so much more to be done. It’s about more than just treating cancer-related heart damage – it’s about stopping it happening at all.
Get Involved
Your help could fund major breakthroughs – from AI-powered tools that spot early heart damage, to training the next generation of specialists and expanding in the UK’s first cardio-oncology biobank.
This is your chance to be part of something truly transformational.
