Help us keep our garden growing
The Healing Garden at Harefield brings comfort, colour and connection to patients, families and staff. Your support keeps them blooming all year round.
A space to pause and recover
Created in 2020 thanks to generous donations, the Harefield Healing Garden and the smaller Rowan Garden have become a vital part of life at the hospital.
The green spaces give patients, visitors and staff a safe and calming place to pause – whether that’s waiting for a loved-one, recovering after surgery or taking a break between shifts.
Designed with patients in mind
This is a garden with purpose. Every part has been designed to support patients’ wellbeing – from paths that are wide enough for hospital beds and wheelchairs, to benches placed for quiet conversations or moments of reflection. It’s open all year, and cared for by both professional gardeners and volunteers.
In our garden, you will find:
- Beautiful plants and sensory areas to lift spirits
- Spaces to rest, reflect and recover – just steps from the ward
- Quiet spots for families to sit
- Safe, level paths, purpose-built with patients in mind
- A peaceful escape for hardworking NHS staff
How you can help
This garden only exists because of donations. Your support pays for compost, plants, bulbs and expert gardening help. Even a small monthly gift – the cost of a coffee – will help us keep it looking beautiful and feeling peaceful.
