It is with deep sadness that we learn of the death of Glen Swire, who founded this campaign and led the appeal to raise well over £300,000 to support patients with rare respiratory diseases through sharing important information. Glen fought his disease bravely for several years, during that time giving generously himself and also raising funds from friends and family. He leaves a tremendous legacy with the LACS project, which will continue to grow and develop. We send our love and sympathy to Glen’s wife Caroline and to his daughters.

Help fund research to improve diagnosis, treatment and care for patients with LACS (Large Airway Collapse with Symptoms)

A number of medical specialists have come together to form a professional multi-centre group in the UK – with the aim of providing a new and joined-up way of assessing and managing individuals who may have symptoms from large airway collapse (LACS).

The aim of the group is to progress an approach that allows individuals suffering with conditions which affect the large central airways (i.e. the trachea and bronchial tubes) to receive an accurate and prompt diagnosis – so the condition can be successfully treated and managed.
