Hello and thanks for visiting our fundraising page!

Last year my husband, Michael, underwent a life-saving procedure at Harefield Hospital due to worsening heart failure (dilated cardiomyopathy) exacerbated by COVID. Thankfully, the open-heart surgery was successful and he was given a new lease of life in the form of a LVAD as a bridge to transplant. We are eternally grateful for the first class medical and nursing care and continuing support from all the Surgeons, Consultants to the Nurses and VAD Team. Harefield Hospital have been at the forefront of all of Michael's treatments and procedures ever since.

We're fundraising for this wonderful charity and their Patients' Fund which supports projects of all sizes across both hospitals that help to make patient life a little more like normal life. Each donation, no matter how big or small can help make a huge difference. They've been able to provide iPads for young patients to distract them during uncomfortable procedures, or portable IV pumps so that patients on the urgent transplant list can remain active during their stay in hospital.

On 2 July, with the support of my family and friends, I will be taking part in The NHS 75 London Bridges Walk in aid of the Patients' Fund so they can continue helping future patients to feel positive and comfortable whilst away from their home and loved ones. All monies raised will go towards The Patients’ Fund.

Our heartfelt thank you for your kind contributions!
