Janet was a patient of Harefield Hospital for 18 years after being fitted with an ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) in 2005. An ICD not only acts as a pacemaker, it can detect fast heartbeats and deliver a shock to bring everything back in rhythm. Over the years Janet had to go through additional surgery at Harefield to keep the device updated. Without that amazing device and the ongoing care the staff at Harefield provided over the 18 years, Janet simply would not have lived well into her 80s. Please show your gratitude by making a donation to support Harefield and its future patients. Alison Pratt
