Running a marathon at 57 is a major challenge! I ‘won’ a lottery place for the very oversubscribed London Marathon. The training has been long and hard, cold and dark, and largely in secret. It was made all the more difficult by having to constantly keep up with my much more fleet footed wife who is also running. However she is three years younger than me and blessed with a much more positive attitude! I look forward to seeing her at the finish.

I am running for the Brompton Charity to help support all the great work they do in and around the hospital, tackling both the little projects and the big issues. What they do is really extraordinary and I am sure you will help me raise as much as I can to put towards their great causes.

Give generously and remember – it could have been you!
