DCME is excited and proud to be a founding sponsor of the FT Nikkei UK Ekiden – a form of long distance relay racing, which began in Japan centuries ago in a time when messages and goods raced between stations along predetermined routes. Today Ekiden is a popular Japanese relay race format that champions teamwork, endurance and camaraderie.

The FT Nikkei UK Ekiden, which takes place on Monday 24 June 2024, is the first time the race has been hosted outside Japan. It will start in Oxford and finish in Windsor, a 72-mile route along the Thames path. 21 teams of 10 will compete in the long-distance relay wearing the traditional tasuki sash instead of using a baton.

DCME is entering a team of 10 runners in the relay.
