Michael Davies After 10 years of annual echocardiograms at my local hospital (St Helier, Carshalton) I was referred to the Brompton in December 2018 when my aortic stenosis became severe. Things happened pretty quickly after that. After 2 Angiograms and other tests, I had the operation (open heart surgery - not a TAVR a la Mick Jagger) on Feb 12th 2019. I have to say that the way the teams at St Helier and the Brompton work together is amazing.

My recovery and re-hab is going so well (am currently doing Couch to 5k as well) that I have decided to do the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 13th 2019 in London. The last half marathon I did was in the 80s!

This is also my thank you to all the staff involved in my care. To John Foran's cardiology team which sits across the Brompton, St Helier and probably other Hospitals in the South of England. Also to Cesare Quarto's surgery team at the Royal Brompton.
