A mum at our school, sadly lost her son, Ruben, at just 3 and half months old due to dilated cardiomyopathy. As a group of mothers, this is an unimaginable situation to be in! We want to do all that I can to support her goal of raising £200,000, which will help others by supporting research. She is already close to £130,000, which is amazing since she set up the fund in March 2022.

Our walk will be on the day after, what should have been Ruben's 2nd birthday, so it will be a reflective walk for Charlotte. So far she has walked 10 miles every month with someone supporting her fundraising efforts! Six of us will be stomping along the England Coast path from Hythe to Romney Sands, which is around 11 miles and will take around four hours.

Ruben's Fund is raising money to enable the team at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals to set up a dedicated research project, which will provide valuable knowledge into genetic cardiomyopathy, which effects 1 in 100,000 babies, to better treat and manage this condition.
