I remember last Spring sitting in the Harefield Hospital Healing Gardens and how uplifting it felt. I’d had emergency thoracic surgery and was a patient recovering at the Harefield Hospital - my third different hospital in a month, after a serious cycling accident. The gardens felt like a million miles from the wards and operating theatres.

I returned to the gardens yesterday volunteering with some of my #PwC team. We helped Catherine, Rosie and their wonderful team in preparing the gardens for this Spring. It was an emotional and happy return for me, almost exactly a year after the accident. The pride, passion and enthusiasm Catherine and team have for what they’ve created is truly incredible and reminded me how special the gardens are for patients and their families and hospital staff.
