Christmas is well and truly on its way now! The first day of December was celebrated with the traditional Santa Dash around Ruislip Lido. Well done to the Charity team for organising it and to all the participants for taking part and raising a fantastic £4,500 for the Harefield Transplant Appeal. Such a fun and wonderful event – a great way to make people feel festive and support such a great cause.

And last night, the Harefield Carol Concert was very warm and special. The village of Harefield joins with the Charity and the Hospital to mark Christmas in a lovely Harefield way. The Harefield Junior School sang Frosty the Snowman, with all the gusto and energy of a real choir – and received spontaneous applause from the audience. The fantastic reading of How The Grinch Stole Christmas just brought a smile to everyone and was beautifully read by one of our donors, Steven Pursey. Of course the Singing for Breathing choir had us all joining in with their songs. Thank you again to the Reverend Martin Davies for welcoming us all again last night and to our very own Chaplain, Reverend Cameron Barker.

And now it’s the countdown to Royal Brompton Carols by Candlelight at St Luke’s! Thank you to the hundreds of you who are coming to join us for this very special evening where Zoë Wanamaker will be our special guest reader. Thanks as always to our generous sponsors without whom we cannot hold these events – Savills and Imperial Hotels. There are still Gallery tickets available if you would like to join us. It is an evening not to be missed.

The Charity had a Board meeting last week when they analyse in detail how their Charity is performing and we received some really great praise from our Chair and our Trustees – so I want to thank the entire Charity team for making this year a really good year and to all of you donors, NHS colleagues and volunteers for being a vital part of the success too. Please stay with us – with your help, we can make a real difference.
