Did you walk the London Bridges Walk on Sunday – if so, wasn’t it good? It was perfect weather and beautifully organised. Here is a picture together with the other half who came to join the 120 people who walked the 10k from Lambeth Bridge to the Millenium Bridge and back (not forgetting that bit extra to and from the meeting place at the wonderful Morpeth Arms and all the steps up and down the bridges!). As always there were dogs dressed in the Charity t-shirts, children as young as five determined to prove that they could do it and the moving stories of donors who were supporting the Charity in memory of a loved one.

So many helpers and supporters from Ripe London who gave lots of fruit to spur us on our way to the best coach company in the known universe, WattsWay Travel who not only sponsored but carted things backwards and forwards to ensure the event went very well. Huge congratulations to Lisa for organising it and great to meet the full Watts family out in force to support mum and the Charity. In total, with your support, we raised £11,000.

If you didn’t join us….. keep an eye out for next year because it is a brilliant way of raising money for the Charity and having an inspiring day of fun and exercise.

Welcome to Susannah Gordon who joins us as a summer intern to support the Charity – she has a myriad of things to do and we are very grateful that she has chosen to spend her summer university break working with us.

Our current appeal is called Transforming your Care and it is raising money to help implement a brand new system which will greatly reduce the running around our nurses currently have to do in the wards. The current paper system is clunky and timeconsuming but the very latest technology will capture detail and give alerts to both the nurses and to the doctor if a patient’s condition changes. Once in use, it will revolutionise the work of our nurses. The Charity always loves to be at the cutting edge of technology and we are proud to be enabling something so valuable.
