Rough winds could not shake the determination and support of our wonderful Harefield Fun Run participants. Well done to you all and thank you for your support for our hospital. Thank you too, to the Charity team and to our hospital colleagues who turned up to take part and enjoy the day. As always, this is a major fundraising day for us. Your support will help us save another life through our MitraClip Appeal, and will also go towards our Patients’ Fund.

Our Patients’ Fund is a very special project. Each year, the Charity gives at least £100,000 to buy things that fall outside any possible NHS budget, but which make a huge difference to our patients and their families. For instance, the Charity recently bought several camp beds for parents to sleep on, so they can stay close to their children when they are in hospital.

We will be telling you more about the Patients’ Fund and what it achieves in our newsletter, News Beat, which comes out twice a year and is due out in just three weeks’ time.  If you don’t think you get a copy, and would like to join our newsletter list – please email [email protected] to let us know. It is packed full of stories about our hospitals, our amazing fundraisers and charity events, and we would love you to be part of our support network.

Our Patients’ Fund is supported by people who give monthly. Setting up a regular gift is so easy to do and spreads a generous donation over a whole year – would you like to help this vital fund? If so, please click here

Finally, tomorrow is our Memories of Flanders and Swann event at the National Portrait Gallery – huge thanks to Michael Mates and William Godfree for performing at what will be a very special event. And to Christopher Ondaatje and the National Portrait Gallery for making it happen. It’s going to be terrific fun.  There are just a few tickets left if you would like to join us….
