I have signed up to Give as you Live and it just about saved my life last week as my eldest son’s birthday had crept up on me without me noticing, and suddenly it was the following day. I quickly went on to Give as you Live and ordered a present from a very well known outdoor shop. Not only did I raise funds for our Charity, but the present was delivered the following day... phew!

So I have now bought a Give as you Live supermarket store card which I can give to another son - it is a very simple way of helping him do a weekly (and hopefully healthy) shop – hey presto, son is restored to health and more money has come in for the Charity. These are not huge sums but if lots of people join us in buying things online or in-store through Give as you Live, then more funds will come in to help our hospitals. It costs us, the customer nothing more and it is so easy.

I plan to do lots of my Christmas shopping this Give as you Live way – including the big Christmas shop for food. In my own little way, I will be bringing money into my favourite Charity.

We are entering a very busy period and there really is something for everyone to cheer us all up as the evenings get darker:

The Great Brompton Quiz – I can’t wait.  It’s going to be fantastic with Hugh Dennis; I’ve got my table and we are studying hard. We won’t win, but we will have a great evening. Two of my friends who are coming on the table said (and I quote) – ‘that’s going to be great, really looking forward to it, we’re hopeless by the way’ – that’s the spirit.

Then there’s the Santa Dash – run, jog, scooter along with dogs dressed as Santa, or perhaps with reindeer antlers? Sunday 1 December at Ruislip Lido for a day of festive fun.

Our two Carol Concerts - Harefield on 12 December and Royal Brompton at St Luke's with Joanna Lumley on 18 December 18th

Come and support us and know you are part of something amazing.
