My fantastic team have produced a wonderful video, which I hope you enjoy.

Over the past few weeks, they have been visiting teams and departments from all over Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, who have taken time out of their busy schedules to help us spread word of ‘thanks’ to everyone who has supported the Charity this year.

They met with a lot of different teams, from cardiologists to the children's ward play team, and even managed to steal a moment with transplant pioneer Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub. It was brilliant to see everyone so willing to help us.

Scroll down to have a watch of it now – we’re all very proud of it!

2017 was a remarkable year. Thanks to you, our supporters, we have completed some incredibly hefty projects. In the words of Sir Yacoub in our video, “thank you, thank you, thank you!”

The new intensive care unit at Harefield will help an extra 250 critically ill patients a year, and our MitraClip appeal successfully funded 15 life-saving operations. Our ‘Genetics and Genomics’ programme received a huge boost, and Royal Brompton’s paediatric intensive care unit got a complete makeover – just to name a few.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible Charity team  so, I would also like to say a big ‘thank you’ to them! If you've ever been to one of our events, you will have met many of them. Our events are terrific fun, and we love to meet our supporters and donors, but I know that when our guests have left, the Charity team are still there, clearing up and getting ready for the next day.

We are not slowing down, however, as we move into 2018. We have a number of new projects and events lined up – such as our Burns Night Ceilidh in January, and our new Harefield Garden project, as well as some we're not announcing just yet...

We’re going into the new year with confidence that the projects we are creating, and those that we support, will make an amazing difference to Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, and the patients and NHS staff within them.

I hope you will continue to support us because we need you every step of the way.

Merry Christmas (if you read this before Monday!) and a very Happy New Year.

Now for that video...
