Kane's story as told by cousin Larissa

Eighteen months ago, Kane was diagnosed with restricted cardiomyopathy and pulmonary hypertension. As a result, he was referred to Harefield Hospital where he received a heart and lung transplant in January 2018.

He made an outstanding recovery and was home within two and a half weeks. He then went on to return to work, college and spent most of his time socialising with his friends. Sadly, he was taken ill, which unfortunately led to him losing his fight on the 6th of December 2018.

Kane was an amazing person who was loved by so many and we want his legacy to be the awareness and money raised for this special Charity. We will be forever grateful to the staff at Harefield Hospital for giving us the time we had with such an amazing boy who unfortunately was taken too soon.

We now go on with the hope that we can help those at the hospital who have helped and supported us. Kane was the most positive, upbeat person I know and we can only learn from him in this difficult time. We live in his light and not his shadow.

On May the 5th 2019, over 50 of Kane’s family and friends are running the Bristol 10K as a group to raise money for our Charity, specifically Harefield Hospital and all of their brilliant staff. To support Larissa and her family, click here
