Organised by our Charity with the Chelsea Foundation, Billy Hughes, a patient at Royal Brompton was given the opportunity to meet his footballing heroes.

Billy, along with a group of other supporters were invited to see the first-team squad put through their paces at the training ground on Monday morning.

Afterwards, there was the opportunity for pictures and autographs, with Ross Barkley, David Luiz and Willian among some of the famous faces.

Billy Hughes was delighted to meet his heroes thanks to both the Foundation and our Charity.

Billy’s mother, Nicky Hughes, said: ‘Billy has cystic fibrosis and he was diagnosed when he was three weeks old and so he’s on a very strict regime of medication to keep him healthy.

‘He’s been going through a little rough patch lately so he’s been looking forward to today and it’s been amazing!

‘It’s days like these that really perk him up when he isn’t at his best emotionally and so today has been a great day out for him.’
