Dave Long, a former patient at Harefield Hospital, has celebrated the 2nd anniversary of his life-saving surgery by organising a charitable BBQ. So far, he has raised a fantastic £1,760.

Back in August 2014, Dave was admitted to Harefield Hospital to undergo an immediate heart bypass operation. Unfortunately, his heart was too weak to withstand the bypass, which meant he required a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) to be fitted.

LVADs are used to help the heart pump blood around the body, and thanks to this transformative surgery by doctors at Harefield Hospital, Stephen is now able to live a healthy normal life.

To celebrate two years since his LVAD was fitted, Dave and his family organised a charitable BBQ with friends and family. The £1,760 he has raised so far, will help contribute to the life-saving work at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals. Congratulations and thank you to Dave and his family for his support!
